Hello friends and faithful supporters…

We’re writing to you on this Monday morning from the Chapel Hill-Raleigh-Durham Triangle after a HIGHLY successful Valentine’s Day show at Local 506 in what is becoming one of our favorite tour cities, Chapel Hill. We haven’t had any trouble travelling despite the Snowpocalypse, which landed record snow falls in most states along the East Coast. Thank you Pontiac, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Rochester, Jamestown, Hamden/New Haven, Boston, New York, Charlottesville, and Chapel Hill for treating us so well and coming to see us do what we do. We met a lot of new people and got copies of the new EP in their hands, which will undoubtedly guarantee even bigger crowds the next time we’re out East.

We’re eating and sleeping well thanks to so many loving, generous people. The support we’ve seen since we started touring 2 1/2 years ago is goosebump-worthy and what keeps us alive. Thank you!!!

The Chemicals Video!!!

“Chemicals” itself is either a rock song disguised as a love song, or vice versa. The song sparks with its own colorful energy, featuring an irresistible, soaring hook. It is clean and catchy, but hardly simple. “Body of Water” and “Breathing Light” showcase the now fine-tuned lyricism present throughout the EP; images of blood, water, language — simple,unconscious elements that are easily overlooked in the day-to-day. The Pet Sounds-esque “Evens” takes the band in a new sonic direction and begs for repeat headphone listens.

This will be our way of keeping you satisfied, well-fed, and continually interested. And to do this release the right way we have a huge list of tour dates confirmed for the next two months, including the official release show at High Dive in downtown Champaign on Saturday, January 30th. Check out the Tour Dates tab for complete listings, but here’s where we’ll be in the following cities between now and the very end of February:

We are all very anxious and excited to inform you that the The Chemicals EP Release Show has made a change in venue, an upgrade if you will. Due to unexpected, RAGING ticket sales it has been decided that in order to accommodate all hopeful show goers, the show will now be happening at The Highdive!

*Zach May & The Maps will now be on at 8:45 instead of 9pm*

We hate to have to make a last minute change like this, but I suppose that if there is a problem to have, selling too many tickets is the best one we can imagine : )

So thank you to everyone who ordered their tickets early (the tickets purchased for the Cowboy Monkey will most certainly get you into The Highdive…in fact, advance tickets are still available through Cowboy Monkey’s Ticket Fusion – www.cowboy-monkey.com), and please spread the word about the change of venue. Being at The Highdive means that there is only more room to party, so bring an extra 5 people or so!

Hello friends and faithful supporters,
It’s finally cold and icy here in the Midwest, so we’ll be hibernating for a while after this weekend. After all, we have to get The Chemicals EP ready to release at the end of January!!! We’re wrapping up a couple of new recordings that will be on the EP and are anxiously awaiting the remix/mash-up of the song “Yes Yes Yes” by our friend Eric Enger of Gentleman Auction House. We think this 5-song release will be just enough to tide you over until we figure out the best release for the full-length album. It will be worth the wait. Please don’t worry. Plus, the video we shot for “Chemicals” in September and October is almost finished in the editing room, and the animated video for “Wooden Houses” is really coming along now(look for it when Yes Yes Yes comes out). January will be a huge month for us!
We’ll be announcing the big list of January and February shows soon. We’ll be heading out to Boston, all the way down the coast, around through the south to Texas, and back home, all with our friends We Landed on the Moon! But for now we’ll just tell you about the weekend we have planned…

November in the Midwest

Friends and faithful supporters,
We’re happy to announce a fantastic two-week tour of our beloved Midwest starting tomorrow night in McHenry, IL. We’ve made friends with the wacky and fantastic Dr. Manhattan and will be playing each and every show in the next two weeks with them. Their bass player has a fantastic mustache and we look forward to seeing it in action nightly.
Not only are we finishing up our first music video, but we also have an animated video in the works and have begun shopping Yes Yes Yes to record labels. But with everything so up in the air as far as release dates go, we’ve decided to get something to you much sooner. Just after the new year we’ll be releasing The Chemicals EP, which will likely include Chemicals and another song from Yes Yes Yes, a basement recording of Evens, the newest song from our live set, Breathing Light(Chamber Remix), and two remixes of songs from the full-length by a couple talented friends of our’s. This EP, which will primarily be available via download from our website and iTunes, will tide us and you, our devoted and patient supporters, over until the full-length record finally hits the stores. So, stay tuned for more info on The Chemicals EP. However, for those of you dying to hear pieces of the new record, you’ll be happy to know that we’ll be sending promo copies to radio stations in the larger markets across the Midwest. So, you might catch some pre-release listens in the near future!
